What Are Your Resources?

You are at an important milestone in your life.

You are looking forward to preparing for your dream job and has some ideas of what you want to do.

Then, the next few years are the most important preparation years of your life. In order to maximize your potential, you need to use your resources to the fullest.

What are your resources?

Your resources are your gifts and talents, your skills, your time and your money.

You are a very special person with gifts and talents of your own. Please don't take your gifts and talents lightly. They are what make you a unique person and your contributions to your family and your community will be in the area of your gifts and talents.

In order to understand your gifts and talents, you need to ask yourself what are the things that you like to do?

I have a child who loves to take take things apart. Our clocks, toys and machines in the house are often taken apart and put back again. Today, he is an engineer with a leading chip making company and enjoying his work there tremendously.

I have another child who likes to work things out step by step. Today, she is a successful marketing manager with an international petroleum company and contributing to her company.

What about you? What do you like to do? What are the things that you do well? Understand your gifts and talents first, then when you choose your university later, it will be a university that will further develop your gifts and talents.

I hope you will talk to your family, your friends and your teachers about what you feel are your gifts and talents. The people around you will be able to confirm it.

To further develop your gifts and your talents you can receive training through colleges and universities.

Colleges and universities will also need some certifications to your basic skills before they will accept you for courses.

In order to go to a good university in US, UK, Australia and New Zealand, you must first have good communications in English. This communication skill will have to be certified through an English Proficiency examination.

Other then communication skills, you will also need some basic skills for the course that you are keen to study. If you are interested in engineering, you will need to take an examination on Math and Physics. If you are interested in Pharmacy you will need to do well for Math, Chemistry and Biology. Most universities in US will require you to take the SAT. For UK, Australia, and New Zealand universities you will need to take O' Level, A' Level exams.

You need to work hard to prove your ability in these skills. Remember, you are judged by your grades.

Begin early to prepare yourself  for your studies. Discuss with your family the amount of time and money that is available to help you succeed at university. Remember to be always positive and flexible in your attitude towards the use of time and money.

Please read the next 2 sections on Our Outlook and Our Philosophy carefully because I am going to teach you how to maximize your time and money in order to fully develop your potential.
