Points To Consider When Selecting a University

Are you a student in school looking for a bright future in the years to come? If so, you will need appropriate training in preparation for it.

This is an exciting time of your life. Planning for the future always brings great hope and joy.

However, differences of opinion can arise in the planning and implementation stage. Family members can sometimes disagree and experience conflict. You need therefore to act with great wisdom as you plan for your future so that you will maximize your resources and minimize the conflict at home.

There are a few important points that I would like to share with you. They are by no means exhaustive. If you need more help on any other issues, please do not hesitate to contact me.

For the rest of this section, let me share with you the following points.

  • What would you like to do ten years down the road?
  • What are employers looking for?
  • What is the part that you will be playing in this industry?
  • What are your resources?
  • Who will support you?
  • How much time do you have to invest in your training?
  • What is the right attitude to take?
  • Can I be who I want to be?

First, let us look at your passion in life.

Sometimes we think that doing a certain job is glamorous and popular. Sometimes our friends or teachers seem to speak highly of a certain job. Other times, we think we want to go for a certain field because our father, mother or brother once did that.

Whatever your reasons, it is important that you should understand what the people holding the job do, and decide whether you would really like to do that 10 years down the road.

This consideration is important because if your family is like any other families, we have limited resources to be shared among all family members. Training and education is expensive and will drain a lot of your family's resources. Once you have used up the resources alloted to you, it is hard to replace them. It will be very hard for you to do another course 5 years later after you have completed the first one. So you need to know what you would like to do, and then go for your training.

Second, we will look at what employers are looking for.

When you finish your training, you will want to seek for your dream job. But do you know what employers are looking for? To be contributing to your company, not only should you be enthusiatic and positive about your job, you must also possess the skill set that is necessary to do the job well.

According to research, many employers are looking for employees who are strong in the area of learning skills, people skills and communication skills. English proficiency is also an important skill that employers are seeking.

Today, English is an important language in science, technology and business. It is also an important international language that is being used in companies all over the world. I would suggest that you should choose a university that uses English as a medium of instruction.

Third, let us learn about the part that you will play in the industry that you have chosen.

Once you know the field you are interested in as well as the skills that your future employer is looking for, you will now need to know that in that particular industry, many people are working in different roles for the success of the company. So which particular role are you interested in?

You need to find out about the different possible jobs in the industry, and choose a university that can prepare you for it.

Please read the other sections to understand fully how you should choose a university.
