May Eng

May Eng (not her real name) was a 12 year old who loves to draw. As far back as she could remember, she has been participating at drawing competitions locally and even at international events.

When she was 15 years old, she also found that  she loves the computer and would spend many hours on it. She also learnt to draw with the help of her computer.

At the end of her high school days, her vocational counselor began to talk to her about what she would like to do when she furthers her studies.

She decided to combine her two areas of interest : the computer and art..

She finally graduated as a computer science major with a minor in art. Today she is happily working as a software developer  for a large international firm. At the same time, she is able to enhance her artistic skills both as a hobby as well as a secondary source of income.

She is thankful that she heeded the advice of the education counsellor and did not choose to major in computer animation. The latter had few job openings. The right choice can make all the difference when you are at the major crossroads of  life.
